The Wedding Gown Tailor Home About

It's a pleasure to meet you, I'm Genna!

The Wedding Gown Tailor is housed in a private boutique workshop in Clarksville, TN, where I live with my family. My interest in sewing spans over two decades starting with my grandmother teaching me the art of mending. In college, I accepted an apprenticeship in a bridal sewing workshop and honed my skills until I rose to be a full-time seamstress. After the birth of my first child in 2019, I left my job in Nashville and decided to focus on my family and a new adventure in entrepreneurship.

Wedding Gown Alterations

Finesse the fit and length of your wedding gown and add custom details such as a bustle, sleeves, or modesty coverage.

Hand Pressing

Have your gown and veil professionally hand pressed. This complimentary service for clients of The Wedding Gown Tailor is also available a la carte.

Heirloom Restoration

Bring your vintage and heirloom veils and gowns and have them restored, refitted, or repurposed.

The Wedding Gown Tailor Home Process

Since wedding gowns are unlike any garment you would normally wear, they rarely fit off the rack, even if they were ordered to your size. Face it, you are unique and cannot be defined by a number in a label. Allow The Wedding Gown Tailor to put the finishing touches on your gown to optimize your comfort and make your gown truly one-of-a-kind.

Fittings can be scheduled up to a year in advance, we suggest you secure your first fitting appointment as soon as the gown is ordered. The first fitting will ideally take place 8 weeks before the wedding and every two weeks thereafter for a total of 2 to 4 fittings.
